At Levi Mize Woodcraftsman's Shop

162 Aviador Street #17+18, Camarillo, CA 93010

Aviador Street is north of the Camarillo Airport and is reached from the Central Ave. exit off of US 101: go south and turn left (east) on the Ventura Blvd. frontage road, then right (south) on to Aviador St.  About three-quarters of the way to the dead end, on the left is a long building.  Levi's shop is the last two doors on the left on the south side of the building.  Please park directly in front of or behind his shop or against the curb on the north side of the building and not in front of other shops.  You may also park on Aviador St.

Presidents Letter

No Show & Tell

To afford Sven as much time as possible to demonstrate hollow forms at the demo, there will be no Show & Tell.

We will have Show & Tell at the May 22nd meeting.

Ventura County Fair

Volunteers are needed to spearhead the Ventura County Fair effort.  A team of at least two individuals is needed to organize the Club effort, which consists of scheduling the demo booth, set-up and tear down.  Please contact me if you would be willing to serve.

The 2010 Fair is from Wednesday, August 4th to Sunday, August 15th.   It’s not too soon to start turning those special projects to enter in any of the twelve woodturning classifications.

1.   Artistic, includes mixed media, carved or decorated

2.   Bowl, decorative

3.   Closed form

4.   Collection, 3 to 5 pieces

5.   Fair Theme

6.   Functional, everyday use

7.   Goblet/vase

8.    Lidded box

9.    Miniature, under 3”

10.  Natural Edge, includes bowl, closed form, vase

11.  Spindle Turning, includes pens, wine stoppers

12.  All other

Eli Avisera Class

Eli Avisera will be conducting two class dates at the Woodcraft Store in Ventura, Wednesday 18 August and Thursday the 19th from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.  This is open to the general public, so if you are interested, don’t wait to sign up.  Call the store at (805) 658-9663 for more info and to reserve your spot.
