Channel Islands Woodturners Holiday Social 2007
Our
annual Holiday Social gathering with members and spouses on December 1st was
again hosted by Lynn and Al Geller. They have opened their home to welcome
the club for several years now and this is one of the highlights of the Channel
Islands Woodturners program schedule and also of the social season. The
party was presided over by President Bruce Berger, with introduction of Greg
Radley the woodshop instructor at Cabrillo Middle School where the club has the
woodturning mentor program for his students. Member Paulo Marin started
the evening off with a surprise gift of his company's Mini G woodturning tool
set for many of the past presidents and other founding officers of the club.
And several of the tool sets were also included in the raffle which included
work from some of the professional turners that did demonstrations this year.
The gift exchange was again a huge success.
Take
a look at the photos (the enlarged view will show if you click on the thumbnail
versions in the film strip- use the arrows at the end of the strip to move to
additional photos). Note the page may take longer than usual to load
due to the number of photos: be patient.
This year the photos didn't make it into the abbreviated
January 2008 newsletter and so are present here. The photos were taken by
Ron Lindsay and we have decided not to use captions. If you were there you
will know what took place if not you will have to attend next year.
